Found this picture of me last week at what is likely my second birthday (counting the candles). Good to remember when you could have everyone together for your birthday. Can't believe me and my mom in matching aprons.
My birthday wish was a simple one - Chinese carryout (I NEVER COOK ON MY BIRTHDAY) Who would have known it would have been so hard. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Royal Oak had been open for carry-out but they have since closed. Even the neighborhood carryout place was closed. Why would a carryout only place be closed. Is there such a stigma to Chinese due to this virus. I know the chain places were open but I don't like to go to chain places if I can help it. So by the end of the day I got myself in a funk. Its funny how something little can get you down - even when you should consider yourself lucky.

I hear you....and yes I think the Mom & Pop Chinese places have been hit hard. Our local favorite was in trouble before the Stay Home, Stay Safe thing.
Last Friday tried to order pizza and salad from our favorite place and they were down. Had to order from our second choice. Never thought that carry out pizza would be a big deal at our house, but it was. :(
