Discovering Encaustic

Took a workshop today at the BBAC on encaustic collage taught by Leslie Sobel.  It was a wonderful workshop.  She provided all the materials but I did bring a couple things to potentially incorporate.  I used a picture of my grandparents and used other papers and colored wax on a small collage.

Looks Impossible...

It looks impossible - but we are all doing it - weaving two sided cloth.  Just finished day 2 of the three day Robyn Spady Workshop - There Are Two Sided to Every Cloth.  It is the first "round robin" workshop that I have been in.  Tiring but fun.

Orchids at the Museum

Last night I attended a fund raiser at the Henry Ford Museum for MCWT - Michigan Council for Women in Technology.  I had the winning bid for an orchid arrangement and a gift certificate at a nearby florist.  This afternoon I spent some time taking pictures of the arrangement.

Ten Years

I think you never get over missing your mother. It is ten years today that my mom died. We had our differences - as I think all daughters and mothers do. But as I get older I think I am becoming more like her. I thought I would post a picture of her but it turns out I have none on my computer. She died before I moved to digital photos. I will need to learn how to scan and add them here.

Fall Colors

Great colors outside and the sun is shining today. Picture of the new tree in my front yard. I love the vibrant red.
