Big Fish

Just finished the book - and no I have not seen the movie.  It is a very quick read.  Interesting book.  It is basically a son remembering the tall tales and the myths told about his father.  I do believe that you never really know your parents.  You see a view of them but cannot easily glimpse their hopes and dreams that they had.

Christmas Eve

A grey day - typical for this area this time of year.  Getting ready to start some of the prep for tomorrows dinner.  I dug out the old Christmas records - yes records.  I still have a turntable and one of my favorite Christmas albums is only on vinyl.

Thought I would share some of the Christmas type pictures from our December trip to the Henry Ford Museum.  We try to go over year to see the tree and train.  This years theme was Lego's as you can see by the train setting.

Morning Ice

Woke up this morning to icy rain.  Had to go out in my robe and catch some of the drops on the tree.  I know I should have taken my tri-pod but it was bad enough that I was out in my boots and robe - who wanted to find more equipment.

Yes I Can Be There Early on a Sunday Morning

I know I am capable of getting up early - I got up before 4:30 am when I was part of the masters women's rowing group.  But I do admit than on Sunday mornings I love to make coffee then start the morning reading the local paper (which does not take long), and then spend the rest of the morning immersed in the New York Times.  Last night I hedged when I heard my cousin Barbara was in Michigan for a meeting and was meeting the family for breakfast.  I surprised everyone by showing up but I can leave before I read the paper - it just means I spend the afternoon reading.
